Finalists in prestigious national and international awards and participating in the filing of lawsuits outside Spain, we have positioned ourselves as a key player in the legal sector.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this 2022 the company culture and the team have been the protagonists. At the beginning of this year we organised an event in which each area marked the important points to be developed during this period and the compass to be followed by the whole team was set, rowing in the same direction and always seeking excellence. Our way of working does not conform to what is usual in the Spanish legal sector. At ESKARIAM we use agile methodologies and we rely on useful technology to work in a transversal way in which all areas are involved in the different projects of the company. Setting a course through a business strategy helps us to build on this foundation and work on a project basis, focusing our efforts on established timescales according to the complexity of the project itself and making use of efficiency and collective intelligence.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another of ESKARIAM’s technological milestones was the certification of our Platform as a Technological Innovation Project. The Innovation Certification Agency recognised it as a technological process in which innovative solutions have been implemented to improve the functioning of processes, as well as the management of mass files. As a legal services company specialising in high-value class actions, it was essential for ESKARIAM to have technological tools that would allow the team of expert lawyers to manage the large volume of cases, clients, and their corresponding documentation. Hence the need to develop a technological solution such as the ESKARIAM Platform, which allows the multidisciplinary team that make up the company to be more efficient and agile in managing thousands of files, making the process more accessible, simple and intuitive for the client.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just as in 2021 we were selected as finalists for our innovative management in the case of the Milk Cartel, in 2022 we were again selected as finalists with the self-developed tool ‘ESKARIAM iDOC Engine’. Thanks to the use of this tool, we at ESKARIAM are able to easily extract invoices and documents from customers. This functionality allows us to be more efficient and agile in the collective claims we work with, with large volumes of documentation and clients.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
European recognition came with our nomination for the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers in the category ‘Business of Law: Challenging traditional models’, in which we were selected as finalists alongside major law firms from Italy, England, Ireland, Wales and Cyprus. This category invites law firms to present initiatives or projects related to strategy, management or corporate operations. Being among those selected is a great recognition of the effort and hard work that we have put in since the beginning of ESKARIAM, just 4 years ago.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ESKARIAM, in collaboration with Aranzadi Spain, organised a round table on litigation funding in the class action market in Spain and Europe. This online roundtable discusses the different litigation funding formulas and the direct influence they have on class actions, a booming market in Spain. In Europe, many of the large law firms have already opened the door to funds in order to access certain cases, covering the costs and facilitating the promotion of these actions in defence of those affected by different infringements and\/or unlawful behaviour. The seminar features key figures in the European legal sector, all of whom have extensive experience in class actions and their funding. In 2022, we continued to receive positive rulings in deposit, time sharing and swap cases, with a success rate of 99%, recovering millions of euros for our clients. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have expanded our activity to other countries, through our participation in two class actions in Portugal against technology giants Apple and Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cherry on top of 2023 has been the filing of six lawsuits against the Milk Cartel on behalf of a group of farmers affected by the anti-competitive practices of the sanctioned dairy industry. The claims filed by ESKARIAM, in partnership with Hausfeld, have been brought in different Spanish courts, including those of Barcelona and Granada, and form part of the largest group of farmers, 7,000, who have decided to claim their compensation from the cartelised dairy industries for an estimated value of over 800 million euros.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, we have made significant progress in other cases of damage claims that we handle at ESKARIAM, completely new in our country, against large international companies, of which we will give more information later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2023 will be full of new objectives, new learning and goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At ESKARIAM we know that leading the creation of a new sector such as class actions is not easy, we have to break down many walls, fall down and get up, always with our sights set on making the world a fairer place, proving that another way of making law is possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
