ESKARIAM defends the interests of truck buyers who, between 1997 and 2011, were disadvantaged by a price premium applied to sales prices by 15 international truck manufacturers in relation to two product categories: trucks weighing between 6 and 16 tonnes and trucks weighing more than 16 tonnes, both rigid trucks and tractor units.
The Trucks Cartel was confirmed in July 2016 by the European Commission in Decision C 4.673 final relating to proceedings under Article 101 [TFEU] and Article 53 of the EEA Agreement (Case AT.39824 - Trucks), a summary of which was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 6 April 2017 (DO 2017, C 108, p. 6).
According to the Decision, the truck cartel involved three MAN entities:
MAN SE, MAN Truck & Bus AG and MAN Truck & Bus Deutschland GmbH, and other 12 companies (AB Volvo, Volvo Lastvagnar AB, Volvo Group Trucks Central Europe GmbH, Renault Trucks SAS, Daimler AG, PACCAR Inc, DAF Trucks N.V, Iveco S.p.A.).
